Located in Bang san myeon, Yang gu gun
Almost all species

It takes aprox. 4 and half hours by car from Seoul to Hyeon ri on Suip cheon.
This stream flows from North Korea, irrigating Paro ho (lake). Due to the military zone at upper stream, it is not easy to approach there but, you can fish near Bang san myon area where the stream runs through really beautiful valleys and feed many species fo lure & fly fishing and other methods. This stream runs through the region between Pyeong haw eui dam and Seohwa cheon. Passing Hyeon ri, Suip cheon runs through the region near Paseo tang(pond), Omiryeong (pass) and Bamseong gol (hamlet) to irrigate finally Paro ho (lake) by the area of  the famous fishing point Sang muryeong ri.

For fishing on Suip cheon, you do not need to try to fish the upper part of the stream which are military zone.  You have many good spots along the stream that flows near Hyeon ri, where you can drop in easily on the way to outing on Pyeong hwa eui dam or Seohwa cheon. On Suip cheon, you can get quite many Keokji and other species, sometimes Sogari when you hit the rocky areas spread widely in the stream.

Especially this stream provides the excellent spots in most of its crooks for fly fishers. This amazing stream repeats many good torrents, rapids, riffles, shallows, runs, pools and depths all along the flow.

It seems neither trout nor cherry trout live there but almost all the other species are plenty.

Fishing on the Suip cheon is not bothered by the habitants of Hyeon ri that seems not a crowded village. And you meet hardly other fishers who  take such a long trip. On any spots you may select, you can enjoy  the quiet fishing ,  feeling like you own all the stream as your own private water. This stream is recommendable for all the fly fishers who prefer quiet fishing than big game fishing to visit once some day. The species are varied like Keuri, Galkyeoni, Pirami, Keokji, Megui, and you name it. The road runs just beside the stream in most of area on the stream that makes easy access to any spots.
Unfortunately, the result of the fishing this stream fluctuates too much according to the weather because the weather shows a caprice in this region. The worm weather usually brings the better fishing and the fishing season begins a little late in spring and ends a little soon in fall.

Front area of Hyeon ri maeul (village) :

It is especially easy to access to the spots in this area. Across the stream, there is an island covered by the pine forest and the bottom of the stream is vastly rocky, making rapids area with a slope of the flow.

This area is so shallow and rocky that it is not easy to make lure castings. Instead, good for fly fishing. The good spots from the rapids continue to the lower part of the stream around the outskirts of the village. The species are really varied. Fish seems prefer to bite caddis flies and you can get a better result if you apply various flies depending on the situation.

Lower part of Hyeon ri maeul :

You will find a vast rocky area on the shore and the bottoms covered by the stones that seem as wonderful points for sogari and other species for lure fishing. The village people say that they fish many big Sogari on this spot. I thought also this spot could be a good lurk for big Sogari who came up from Paro ho. I have still no experience of catch Sogari in this point but lots of big Keokji on lure fishing, instead. This is an excellent spot for both of lure and fly fishing. Nevertheless, the result of fishing this spot fluctuates too much. Maybe the village people overfish often by some illegal methods ?
