Below the sign board indicating "Soyang ho multi purpose dam" : This spot is located under the sign board "Soyang ho multi purpose dam" opposite side to Soyang ho ferry. It takes about five minutes by motor boat. Usually you would hook small and middle Sogari. Lunkers are relatively scarce on this spot. Nevertheless, the lure fishing for Sogari begins earliest here in spring.
Bluffs area opposite side of San mak gol. On this spot, it is very hard to move to other points and you would lose many lures due to the submerged trees. But, many lunkers would hit your lures gluttonously there. This is a short valley with lots of crooks. Anglers who cast toward the opposite bluffs using rubber worms will have the best records of fishing. No liner service of boat company is available. So, you have to rent a boat at ferry to get on the water of this spot.
Inside of the valley, Soyang susan(fishery company) is located. The important points are around the rocky area on the cape. The rock piles area in the main lake channel is also a good spot that holds lots of Sogari too, with the underwater obstructions though, bothering your casts. Considering this spot is very deep, you should fish in aprox. 15meters where the jumbo Sogari are usually ambushing.
This spot is narrower than Jakeun(little) san mak gol. There are many downed trees that trap your lures. Nevertheless, you can hoist many Sogari while the water is coming up on this spot. The opposite side of Soyang susan (fishery company) has been reputed as the best point in this area. To get on the water of this spot, you have to rent a motor boat at ferry because of no liner service. There is a homstay house in the valley who provides meals, lodging and boat service.
It is the region around the valley near Ing eo gol (carp valley) located between the fish farms on lake named Horim susan and Dong eun susan, On this spot, you can throw casts moving about 300 meters on the shore. It takes 10 minutes or so by motor boat from the ferry. Fishing this spot is best in drought season while water is dropping. Heading to main channel, the left and right sections of the bluffs are the best points.
Below the sign board indicating " Entrance to Dong myeon" : It is below the sign board indicating "Entrance of Dong myeon" in about 10 minutes by motor boat from the ferry. Bottoms are rocky area and of snags. In drought season, Sogari on this point are smallies. The third and fourth valley are best. If you would move along the shore of the fourth valley to get on a small cape, you will find bluffs area where you can hook occasional lunkers.
To get on the water of this spot, rent a boat heading to Buchang seom (island). On the way, you will find a cove on your right that looks like steep bluffs in the distance. That is a good point whose bottom is rocky and it is easy to move on the shore.
At the mouth of Sinmi ri : Thers is a liner servic to this spot. You will find a rocky area at the mouth of the effluent. The good points are scattering between the bluffs areas on the right of the valley and the cape area.
You can get to the ferry of Bukwi ri by car and get on the spots by boat afterward. From the ferry, upto Sinjin seom(island), you will find many good points. The spot opposite to the ferry produces lots of Sogari while the water is coming up.You can move about 1 kilmeters on foot on the shore. The good points are at lower section of the channel where the downed trees are found. They call this spot is the trainnig course of the beginners because fishing is easy and good on this spot. The other good points are the right cove of the boatman's house and its opposite cape, back and opposite sides of Cheong su susan and so on.
It is a small valley that you find on your left when you pass by Horim susan and Dong eun susan, heading for Malkeol ri from the mouth of Dong myeon. There is a private house in the valley. You can move on foot from the mouth of the valley and throw casts toward opposite cape, where is the best point in the valley. Also you will find more good ones in another valley over a ridge. There is a big rock and gravel shore where you can hit the opposite slow slope area. On this spot, the upper ends of the effluent become the spawning area of Keuri. Around May, you can catch many fierce fighters by spinners on lure fishing or by various flies on fly fishing all day long.
How to get there : Heading for Hong cheon from Chun cheon, you will find a road sign indicating "Sang keol ri fishing place" on your left on declining road after the first tunnel. Take the unpaved road on your left and drive for 10 minutes until you get to Sang keol ri fishing place.You will find the boats that you can rent for reaching the spots of Sin ie ri, Malkeol ri, Godeun gol etc.
You can reach this spot by car. It is the region with deep water around the cape opposite to Sinjin seom (island). On your right is a gravel shore on the slow slope. You can move to near Daehan susan(fishery), throwing casts.
To get to Ohang ri spot, come upto Ohang ri by car and move to the spot by boat afterward. It is much cheaper and faster than you begin from the dam. The road to Ohang ri is completely paved. Take the first paved road on your right when you find the crossroad in a 10 minutes' drive after you pass through Chugok tunnel. This road will lead you to Ohang ri ferry. There is a tollgate before the ferry. The entrance fee is 5,000 won a person. From the ferry, you can get to all the spots near Ohang ri by boat. It has been the famous spot with its good fishing results, being crowded with nemerous fishers that results today in scarce fish. Fishing Ohang ri is best in last ten days of May and after August.
Chugok ri : It also has been a famous spot. The average records of fishing Chugok ri seems better than any other spots. Sogari hooked on this spot show a variety in size. The motor boats only get you to the points. It is a good place for fly fishers who seek for lunker Keuri on the inlet of the water at upper stream of the valley. There are really lots of fierce fighters against fly fishers in around May. It is also the spot far better in May and after August than in other season. How to get there : Drive along the national road # 46 from Chuncheon , passing through Chugok tunnel till you get to the entrance of Ohang ri. And take the unpaved declining road on your right that leads you upto spot of Chugok ri. You will find a homestay house at the spot who supplies meals, ferry service and loading. ...//
