Paldang Sogari, Gangjunchi, Bass, Keuri, Pirami, etc. ...
It is one of the most famous fishing spots for Kyeonji fishing (traditional fishing method in Korea) on boat. There is a big rapid area under Paldang dam. It is near from Seoul and easy to approach to river. Your lure castings moving along the shore of gravel shoal often get big Sgari. The species in this spot are Gangjunchi, bass, Keuri, Pirami, etc.. Fly fishers can wade along the shore.
(Unfortunately, from Misari to Paldang dam, fishing is prohibited since 1999.for protecting the potable water source.)
After construction of Paldang daekyo, a new rapid below the bridge appeared. This spot is very famous for Kyeonji fishing (Korean typical bait fishing), where lots of rental houses for the fishing boat do business.
On the river below the dam, lure and fly fishing are popular. When the spillway opens to flow the water, many species like Sogari, Keuri, Gangjunchi, bass come up well.
Especially on the rapids with the bottom covered with pebbels below Paldang daekyo, big Sogari come up often, seducing many anglers. It is already reputed well with lunker sogari but, fishing pressure varies much. The best fishing time is when the dam opens spillways in 3 ~ 4 days after heavy rain.
