As Hwang eo come up Osip  cheon for spawning in spring, fishing for Hwang eo is more popular than trout fishing on Ospi cheon (PHOTO : Sinki 1st kyo)

 To come up the stream from Samcheok city, take the road # 38 toward Dokye in front of Jukseoru and at the forked street of Dokyeong station, turn to the right toward road # 7 that connects Samcheok and Donghae. Just passing by Dokyeong station, you will find Osip cheon immediately.

In front of Mapyeong dong : It  is one of the spawning points of Hwang eo on Osip cheon. Gravelled shore is unfolding widely on both sides of the stream. The stream makes some shallows and small pools, where you can hit probably trouts and Hwang eo on both lure fishing and fly fishing. On the rapids also, Pirami, trouts, Hwang eo are hoisted often.

Passing by Mapyeong dong, you will find an area of wide riffles on your left, after passing by the flyover of railroad . When the water level is high to make you enable to cross the stream, the bites of trouts will be activated.

Hajeong 2nd kyo(bridge) : Passing by Miro station, go straight up over a hill. Crossing over the hill you will find Hajeong 2nd kyo. Before crossing over the bridge, turn to the left and take a lane and go to the railroad Yeong dong line closely to find a wide pool on the crook. The pool is deep enough for bait fishing, too. You can probably hook some Hwang eo or trouts on your spinners of lure fishing.

Hajeong 1st kyo : Passing over Hajeong 2nd kyo, you will find Hajeong 1st kyo. There are a deep pool in front of the bluff at lower part. At the junction with rapids, you can probably hoist trouts. The pool is also good.

Upper part of Hajeong 1st kyo : There is a wide sandy beach. You will find a long rapid after you go round along Yeong dong railroad. It is the spot for trout when the water level becomes sufficient for fishing. The good fishing spots continue unfolding up to Sang jeong station. The interval bwtween Sangjeong station  and Miro station is known as one of the best fishig spots of Euneo (sweet smelt).

Barrier behind Remicon plant : There is a barrier behind Remicon plant at upper section of Sangjeong station. It is also one of the good spots for trouts. To access to this spot, you have to pass by the front of the plant and , before crossing over Cheonki 3rd kyo (bridge), take the right lane and a wide gravelled shore will comes in sight right away.

Cheon ki 3rd kyo (bridge): Trouts are encountered often on rapids at lower section and around the barrier at upper section.

Cheon ki 2nd kyo (bridge) : Trouts are hooked often in front of the bluffs and rapids at lower stretch.

Sinki 2nd kyo (bridge) : The area of rapids at lower part is the best spot for trouts.

On Osipcheon, the spinners are mortal weapon when you would like to do lure fishing. The average size of Hwang eo is 30 ~ 40 cm, enough to feel a great reaction on the tip of your rods. ...//
