Naechon myon, Hong cheon gun Trout, Keokji, Galkyeoni, Pirami ...
This stream runs through the remote villages located between Hongcheon gang and Naerin cheon. It is a small and clear stream providing village children good swimming pools in the summer. It is a kind of small snake river, making many pools, riffles, rapids where many species are schooling. You can enjoy quiet fishing for a whole day because this stream is still not crowded with anglers. This stream may not suitable for lure fishing, except Keokji, but good enough for fly fishing. About 3 hours' drive from Seoul.
There are several water barriers between Sagab kyo (bridge) to Kyeongsin pyeong (plain) on Naechocheon (stream) that flows around the seat of Naechon myeon office. Those barriers keep the water level of Naechoncheon steady all the season..
Around those several barriers at upper and lower section, the water is really fertile that all kinds of fishing are available and the species are varied, moreover. This stream suggests a real joy of stream fishing.
The stream flows through the course between Sagab kyo(bridge) and Muhyeon kyo a little fast and the bottoms are covered with gravels. Within this area, Pirami(pale chub) and Galkyeoni (dark chub) are coming up many. And at the lower section of Munhyeon kyo , the species are much more varied. If you have a lucky day, you would hoist some wild trouts that are assumed to have escaped from the trout farm beside the stream at lower end.
From there to Kyeongsin pyeong, the bottom is covered with pebbels and sand. Within the area, at upper part of the barriers, you would catch mainly Pirami and, at lower part, the main species are Nuchi (steed barbel), Bulkeoji (big male Pirami in beautiful nuptial color) and so on. You would catch a fish on almost every castings on a lucky day. As there are paddies (field rice cultivated) along the stream, you'd better dropping down the stream, wading alongside.
This stream is really secluded and cozy with not so much wind and fish are still many in water. And you would like the rural landscape too and good camping grounds under the forests along the water. I would like to recommand this hermit place to the beginners of flyfishing to visit with the family and practice the fly casting, fishing and excursion with the family under the forests near the water. ...//
