DaeGangMyeon on SeomJinGang (River) DaeGangMyeon, NamWonGun
Daegang myeon, is located at the upper stream of Seomjin gang. The river before Daegang myeon, is called as 'Jeokseong gang', and the course before Jeokseong gang is called as 'Owon cheon'. Daegang myeon, is one of the best fishing spots for plenty of Sogari after heavy rain. On the way from Namwon toward Gokseong, you will find a checkpoint on the forked road. Turn to the right for the direction of 'Sunchang' and you will find imediately the river on your left. This fishing spot has many rocky areas in the river,

good place to hide for Sogari. You can catch many Megui, too. In the past, it was very famous for Euneo(sweet smelt) fishing. There are big pine forests along the river, nice places for camping. It takes about four hours by car from Seoul.

ChimGokRi on SeomJinGang (River) ChimKokRi, KokSeongGun
It is one of the most famous fishing spots for Sogari. Driving from Namwon to Gurye, you will find, on your left, Samwon concrete co. ltd.. There is a cement barrier in the river just after the factory, and within 1 km from the factory, you will see [Chimgok ri crossing ferry], opposite side of bus station of Chimgok ri. You can approch to the ferry. The recommended spots are next to the cement barrier, upper section around barrier after ferry, rapids at downstream. etc.. It takes about four and half hours by car from Seoul.

Iron Bridge at GaJeongRi on SeomJinGang (River) GaJeongRi, GokSeongGun
Driving from Chimgok ri to lower stretch, you will find soon an iron bridge over the river. This bridge is for pedestrians only. Passing over the bridge, you will enter into a small village. There is a lawn ground for camping in front of the village and you have rapids, rocky bottom areas under water and other various fishing spots for Sogari in the river. In the past, this area was very fertile but it has become sterile recently due to earth and sand piled in the river by mistake of a construction company. Fortunately, this spot

seems to regain its fertility, as anglers catch some Sogari lately. The recommended spots are below the bridge and upper and lower section around it. Except Sogari, there are Megui, Keuri, Pirami too that you can easily fish on lures or flies. It takes about four and half hours by car from Seoul.

AbRokRi on SeomJinGang (River) AbRokRi, GokSeongGun
At a bit lower section of the river, next to Chimgok ri, Abrok station is located at the junction with Boseong gang (river). There is the amusement ground Abrok in front of the station. There are lots of good spots for Sogari around and upper section of the station. You can fish Megui as well. In the summer, this area is crowded with tents . It takes about four and half hours by car from Seoul.

GanJeonKyo (bridge) on SeomJinGang (River) GanJeonMyeon, GuRyeGun
In a few minutes' drive next to Gurye old station towards Hwakye, you will find Gurye dong(east) middle school. Ganjeon kyo(bridge) is located opposite side of the school. Walk along the bank for about 300 meters towards lower stream until you find two tombs and take there ramp to the shore. You will find the rapids named Dong Bang cheon Yeo wul (rapids) that is the spot famous for Sogari and Megui. You can catch big fish on long

casting towards grass area on the opposite shore. As there are big rocky bottom area in the river. you would lose many lures. It takes about five hours by car from Seoul.

DongHaeMaEul (Village) on SeomJinGang (River) MunCheokMyeon, GuRyeGun
Passing by Gurye old statio towards Hwakye, you will find roadsign of Donghae Maeul(Village). Turn to the right as roadsign instructs and pass over a bridge. The village is located in about 2 km. The river flowing in front of the village has a large rocky bottom areas that hold lots of Sogari. This spot is active after heavy rain. The rocky bottom areas are spread all over the village front. It takes five and half hours by car from Seoul.

BoSeongGang (River) JukGokMyeon, GokSeongGun
This river is abundant in species..It rises from Ongchi myeon, Boseong gun and flows for about 120 km until it joins Seomjin gang at Abrok. In the past, the access was hard due to the difficult road condition but new road recently built made it easy. In many pools and around various rocky bottom areas in the river between Jukgok barrier at Jukgok myeon, and Abrok, there are many good spots for Sogari, Keokji, Megui, Pirami etc., good campgrounds, as well. But, this area is not so easy to move along the shore because there are some rocky banks and steep bluffs. It takes about five hours by car from Seoul.

BoSeongHo (lake) Between MiRyeokMyeon and KyeomBaekMyeon, BoSeongGun
On the flow of Boseong gang (river), there are two dams : one is Boseong gang dam and another is Ju am dam. Boseong ho is the lake made by Boseong gang dam, whose high surface is about 170 thousands square meters. This lake is still fished by handful of lure and fly fishers that most of the areas are remained untouched. But it is known as being abundant in species and fish. Around this lake, there are not so many villages nor factories. It is literally a remote lake. Nevertheless, some good spots for Sogari on lure

fishing are reported near upper end of the lake and some areas on the surface. It takes about five hours by car form Seoul.

JeokSeongGang (River) DeokChiMyeon, ImsilGun
Upper end of Seomjin gang that flows through Jeokseong myeon, Sunchang gun to Daegang myeon, Namwon gun is named as Jeokseong gang. It gets the name Seomjin gang from Daegang myeon,. Surrounding of Jeokseong gang is really scenic. Sogari are relatively scarce but Keokji are plenty. There are lots of jumbo Keokji. You can find good campgrounds under the cozy forest shore. Run for about 6 km along the national road #24 from Sunchang towards Namwon and turn to the left at the forked street of Jibuk ri. The river is just in a few minutes. It takes about four hours by car form Seoul.

DaeAhHo (lake) DongSangMyeon, WanJuGun
This lake is made by three dams and built about 80 years ago. But, it is recently that good spots for Sogari were found and reported. Among three dams, fishing is available on the middle dam only. On this lake, there are various spots like rocky bottom areas, gravel shoals, rocky bluffs, rapids on drought and so on that hold many species and fish. it takes about three and half hours by car from Seoul.

GuRiHyangCheon (Stream) & CheonCheon (Stream)
JeongCheonMyeon & SangJeonMyeon, JinAnGun
Gurihyang cheon(stream) is upper stretch of Cheon cheon. It runs to join Jinan cheon on the way and continue flowing to Dopa ri where it becomes Keum gang and produces famous old spots for Sogari there. In Gurihyang cheon, you will find pools, rapids, rocky bottom areas that are productive. Cheon cheon is crowded with tents in the summer but fishing is not so disturbed because spots are wide. This stream has high scenic beauty. It takes about four hours by car from Seoul.

TamJinGang (River) YeongAmGun & JangHeungGun
This river rises near Yeong am, Jeon nam and flows through Gangjin to irrigate finally South sea. On the flow of the river, there are many barriers. In the past, this river produced numerous Euneo but this species is scarce at present due to the pollution by sewage. This river still provides quite valued spots for Sogari on lure fishing and for many other species on fly fishing. It takes about five hours by car from Seoul.
