Imkye cheon flows through Imkye myeon located in north east of Jeongseon and runs towards west for Yeoryang. On the other hand, the stream runs to east is called as Golji cheon. The surroundings along the stream is of absolute beauty because this province is in the midst of grand massifs Taebaek. And, you can catch many fish in every crooks of the snake streams. There are five streams that flow around Jeongseon eup

Goljicheon and Imkyecheon - They rise from Hajang of Samcheok and flow together with Joyang gang in the south of Jeong seon.

Song cheon - It rises around Hwang byeong san on the north west of Daegwan ryeong(pass) and joins with Joyang gang in the north of Jeong seon eup.

Dong dae cheon - It flows through Dong myeon of Jeongseon, where Hwa am yaksu  is famous and joins with Joyang gang in the south of Jeong seon eup.

Dong nam cheon - It flows through Gohan and Sabuk, villages of coal mine, and joins with Joyang gang just below Jeongseon.

Odae cheon - It rises from Odae san on the north of Hajinbu, big town beside Yeongdong express way,  and joins with Joyang gang in the north of Jeongseon.

Imkye cheon rises from Songkye, excavating many beautiful valleys in its every crooks, and joins with Song cheon, dropped down from Gujeol ri, at Ah uraji in Yeoryang. Golji cheon that flows in front of Gumi jeong(bower) at Imkye ri of Imkye myeon, making lots of beautiful pools and riffles on the rocks. This place was nominated as unofficial sightseeing place of Jeongseon gun and managed by the Commitee of Development of Bong san 3 ri of Imkye myeon.

An iron overpass was installed in front of Gumijeong (bower), crossing over Golji cheon. The parking place is wide. In summer, fishing is not available due to the crowded prople dabbing in water. But you can begin fishing around the paved road before you enter in along the unpaved road. To access to the shore, you should cross pine forest. The bottom of the stream in this spot is covered with rocks. You may hook Sogari. It is the best spot on Golji cheon, easiest to access.

Dropping down Imkye cheon, the good fishing spots are scattered on Sonkye maeul, Bancheon, Bonjeong maeul and so on. On those spots, you can hit Keokji and Sogari mostly. Plenty of Galkyeoni, too. You can probably hoist the wild trouts on the rapids around Yeoryang station. The mountains and valleys along Imkye cheon are so cozy, touching and of absolute beauty that you would feel enjoying the scenic surroundings are more than half of the goal of the fishing adventure. Along the stream you will find lots of good shores covered with pebbles or banks under forests suitable for camping. When autumn begins, it is already too cold to fish. The best time to fish on Imkye cheon is spring and summer and, the type of journey recommendable is fishing with family camping. Even though the stream is crowded in summer, you can fish on many spots, avoiding the people.

How to get there :

Passing by Jeongseon, take national road #42 to Imkye myeon. At Imkye myeon, forward to the direction of Gumi jeong. Another way is to get out from Seong san I.C. of Yeong dong express way and go to the south toward Imkye. ...//
