Keokji, Song eo, Galkyeoni, ...

The effluents coming from Samcheok and other ones coming from Sabuk get together near Hwa am myeon, Jeongseon Gun and taking name 'Dong dae cheon', it flows in front of Hwa am dong gul(Cave). The cliffy mountains along the stream are so beautiful that the road runs along the river is recommended as the good driving course. The species is not varied but there are trouts escaped from the trouts fishery near the stream. Fly fishers can catch many Pirami and Galkyeoni. It takes aprox. 4 hours by car from Seoul.  (PHOTO: Lower part of Dong dae cheon at the confluence with Joyang gang)

Near the trout farm at Song myeon :

Sometimes, you can hit trouts near the trout farm. It is the best spot at the upper section of Dong daecheon. Pirami come up plenty on fly fishing.

Dropping down toward Hwa am yaksu (spring), the bluffs are widely stretched to opposite side until you cross a water barrier, that is a good spot for Pirami.

Around Hwa am yaksu (spring) :

Dropping down to Hwa am yaksu sightseeing facilities, you will find another water barrier and Yaksu kyo (bridge) a little more downward. Around the bridge, you can catch lots of big Pirami on fly fishing. In summer, after monsoon, you can probably hit trouts flooded over the fishery in each crook of the stream.

Lower stretch of Dong dae cheon :

The stream begins a winding flow toward southwest of the map (beyond map). A recommendable fishing spots are on the crooks of the stream between Aesan kyo(bridge) and Won dong kyo located near Jeongseon Eup, lowest stretch of Dong dae cheon.

Outing to Dong dae cheon from Seoul is quite a long journey but pleasing your eyes by the beautiful landscape like Hwa am pal kyeong including Hwa am yaksu and the unnamed inspiring mountains seem to echo the touching melody  'Jeongseon arari'  and thrilling your hands sufficiently through your fly rods of 2 ~ 3 weight by fish will surely compensate your adventure.

How to get there :
