Sinki myeon, Samcheok si
Sancheoneo, Song eo, ...

It is one of the upper streams of Osip cheon. The population of Sancheoneo is dense and you may encounter some wild trouts escaped from the fisheries. The road goes 9 km or so alongside the stream from the entrance of the Daeyri Kyegok (valley) to Hwanseon gul(cave) is paved. You would hit Sancheoneo or wild trouts on fly castings on deep pools. It takes aprox. 5 and half hours by car from Seoul. (PHOTO : The entrance of the valley. The lowest section of the stream)

In the valley, there are surely some Sancheoneo or trouts in each pool of the stream. Therefore do not skip over any pools in Daeyri kyegok (valley)

Gomu neung kyo(bridge) ~ Daeseong nongjang (farm) :

There are four or five deep pools and two spillways of fish farms, where you should never skip over. The waterfalls are also good spots. Especially, passing by the first fishery, lots of good fishing spots with various shapes and conditions appear. Trouts are hooked often and the big Sancheoneo come up occasionally.

Daey garden ~ Daey bunkyo (small branch school) :

Passing by the signal 'Daeseong nongjang (farm)', the fishing spots along the road are unfolding consecutively. On those spots, fishing is not so good as lower section but trouts and Sancheonoe bite the flies quite often. Going upward further, the valley gets away from the road. On this point, you will find some fishing spots productive of Sancheoneo. Through the careful castings, you would hook some big ones probably.

When the stream comes closer to the road, Sancheoneo are often found in cracks under the embankment of stones along the stream. (PHOTO : Upper part of bus station)

Hwan seon kyo(bridge) ~ Bus terminal

It is a concentrated area of the best spots on Daey ri valley. The pools under the pine forest just upper than Hwan seon kyo is the best of the bests. The spots lower become closer to the road, making Sancheoneo cautious generally but the probability of lunker is still high. The spots behind the parking space downward from bus terminal is also probable because there are good rapids and, moreover, trouts are encountered often from a close fishery.

How to get there :

From Gang reung, take Dong hae express way toward Samcheok and trun to the right at Bukpyeong to take national road # 38 that leads you to Taebaek. Turning to the right at the point the signal board stands just before Dokye checking point, you will reach soon the entrance of Daeyri kyegok. ...//
