Maeng bang ri, Geundeok myeon, Samcheok si. Song eo, Sancheoneo, ...
This impoundment is the first fishing place allowed trout fishing to public in Korea. In the effluent of the impoundment, Korean inland waters laboratory, who studies freshwater fishery nourishing many species, is located and quite a lot of trouts and Sancheoneo escaped from the laboratory live in the Chodang Kyegok (valley). The valley is too narrow to cast lures. It takes aprox. 5 and half hours by car from Seoul.
The total water surface of this impoundment is about 40,000 pyeong (about 33 acres). The good fishing points for lure fishing is around the dyke. Under the dyke, trouts bite the lures very often and on the cemented wall on the right side of the spillway, Keuri come up frequently.
On the catings from the forest under the private houses to opposite water too, you can expect hoisting trouts.
Even though the fishing on the main channel of the impoundment is bad, this spot is still productive.
If you go up to upper area of the impoundment, you will find a valley. This valley has the rocky bottom but lots of trouts are ambushing unexpectedly. To avoid losing the lures pinched between the rocks, fast reeling lures to swim them top waters is recommended. Around the fishery on opposite bank is also good spot.
Chodang kyegok (valley)
It is a valley nearby from the impoundment. You can encounter on the tip of your rods the trouts born in the stream of the parents escaped from the reservoir of Inland waters laboratory. The valley is so narrow and forest invaded to the border of the stream that the fly casting is not easy. Around the cave 'Chodang gul', Sancheoneo are hit often. There are stores and homestays nearby.
